Doreens Jamaican Rum Cake Stall Greenwich Market.jpg

Heavenly, Jamaican Homemade Rum Cakes, made in London

Jamaican rum cake, also known as Jamaican black cake is very popular across the Caribbean region. Caribbean rum cakes incorporated local produce and liquors, evolving from steamed fruit pudding recipes brought in by British colonists in the 18th Century into a unique confection. Sugar and alcohol played an integral role in preserving fruits and cakes. The ingredients can be costly and the preparation is an intense labour of love, hence my slogan “It’s all about the taste and baked with love right here in the UK”. Jamaican rum cake is an edible, historic relic of the sugar trade and hundreds of years of Caribbean History.

My mum taught me the recipe, handed down from her mum. We would bake cakes together for festive events and to give away as gifts to friends and family, as it implies deep friendship with the recipient. After her unfortunate passing some years back, I decided to pick up from where we left off, continue her legacy and share her love within the taste of my cakes.

You can find us at our stall on Greenwich Market or you can order individually or in bulk online and we will deliver. We don’t just bake traditional rum cake but also rum truffle brownies, wedding cakes, and even promotional cakes if you have an event or brand to shout about.

If you want to taste our delicious, rum soaked, soft moist, fruity delicacies, all lovingly baked with over 30 years of experience backing us up,  then pop down to the market or you can order online – we guarantee you’ll love it!
